Why are my fish dying one by one?

Frequently asked questions

Should I do a water change if my fish are dying?

Test first, then act on what you find. If ammonia, nitrite or nitrate is elevated, an appropriately conditioned partial water change is a sensible response. If tests come back normal, look at disease, stocking, equipment and recently added livestock instead of assuming a water change alone will fix it.

Is it normal to lose one fish occasionally?
